Entries are invited from Army Major and Minor Units, as defined in Reference A, for the Army Inter Unit Cricket Competition 2012.
ENTRIES
Units based in UK, including Northern Ireland, who wish to enter the competition are to complete and return the entry form at Annex A including the relevant fee payable to the Army Cricket Association (ACA). Units based in Germany to compete in their own competition with winning teams from the Major and Minor Units Finals joining the UK Section at the Quarter Final stage.
The closing date for entries is 30 Mar 2012. Late entries will only be accepted if the draw allows. Cricket Officers are requested to give due consideration to likely unit commitments before entry. Once entered, units are expected to make every effort to play matches by due dates once the draw is published.
ORGANISATION AND MATCH RULES
The Competition is a knock-out Cup with rules incorporating the 2010 Code at Reference B.
The draw which allows approximately four weeks for matches to be played in each round will be promulgated by the Secretary Army Cricket Association (Sec ACA) by 30 Mar 2012. The Minor Unit Final will take place at the Army Cricket Ground, Aldershot on Wed 5 Sep 12 followed by the Major Unit Final on Wed 12 Sep 12.
All matches should start at 1.30pm with a tea interval of 20 minutes between innings, each of which is to be 40 overs. The full rules for the competition will be included with the draw to all participating units.
MATCH ADMINISTRATION
Units are to organise their own Scorers, food, accommodation and transport. Accommodation and messing in Aldershot can be booked through Central Accommodation Booking Service on 01252 352154. Match balls are to be provided by each team with the exception of the Finals. Match catering and the provision of match balls for the Finals will be covered by the ACA.
Arrangements for the provision of match officials and general administrative detail for the conduct of the competition will be included with the draw.
